Publication in RSC Sustainability.

While the reductive depolymerization of lignin is a hot topic in lignin research, achieving high yields still relies on expensive noble metal catalysts 💲. In our latest research publication, Tibo De Saegher evaluated a series of Pd nanoparticle catalysts combined with non-noble metals (Cu, Ni, Fe, Co and Mo) to study the effects on the activity and selectivity in the depolymerization of soda lignin. While the addition of cost-effective metals enhances catalyst activity, the catalyst preparation strategy is of significant importance as well!

Furthermore, do you wonder how selectivity is affected by dehydration and hydrogenation of lignin compounds, then take a look at the publication.
